January 2019 ViMBAR Match

A good turnout for the first match of the year. Jim and Bill set up five ten round stages, starting with:

Stage One. From prone supported position, a ‘shoot-til-you-hit, shoot-til-you-miss’ scenario with two targets at 275yds.

Sitting supported on Stage Two, with targets at 100, 200, 300 and 400yds. Engage until hit twice and move. Two points for all hits on the last taerget.

Another ‘shoot-til-you-hit, shoot-til-you-miss’ scenario on Stage Three, from sitting unsupported position. Targets at 150 and 200yds.

Six pistol rounds to start Stage Four, engaging a 30yd. target. Then from standing position, ‘shoot-til-you-hit, shoot-til-you-miss’ with targets at 150 and 200yds.

The grenade pitch started the tie breaker, Stage Five, followed by six pistol rounds at a 25yd. target. Then from any unsupported position, a Nevada Sweep with targets at 160, 220 and 125yds. Mandatory reload after five rounds.

Possible high score of 69.

December ViMBAR Match

A great turnout for the special ‘Swiss Miss’ match arranged by Jim and Bill this month. All participants using Swiss rifles were eligible for novelty door prizes.
Five stages, all ten rounds unless otherwise stated.
Prone supported for Stage One, engaging a single 250yd. target. Sixty seconds to fire a maximum of 15 rounds.
Sitting supported on Stage Two, engaging targets at 400, 300, 200 and 100yds. Engage until hit and then move to the next. Bonus points for all hits on the 400yd. target. No sight adjustment after the first shot.
A Nevada Sweep on Stage Three, from sitting unsupported position. Targets at 200, 150 and 175yds.
Six pistol rounds at a large 35yd. target to start Stage Four. Then a ‘shoot-til-you-hit, shoot-til-you-miss’ scenario with targets at 175 and 200yds. From standing position.
The tie breaker started with the grenade pitch and then six pistol rounds at a medium 25yd. target. From standing position alternate targets at 160 and 220yds., five rounds. Repeat from any unsupported position.
Possible high score of 73.

November ViMBAR Match

Sunny with light winds for this month’s match. Jim and Bill set up five stages, all ten rounds, starting with:

Stage One. A ‘shoot-til-you-hit, shoot-til-you-miss’ scenario with a medium target and ‘Gary’ at 300yds. From prone supported position.

Sitting supported on Stage Two, with targets at 100, 200, 300 and 400yds. Engage until hit and move to the next target. Then repeat. Two minutes allowed with sight adjustment, three minutes without. Two points for all hits on the farthest target.

A Nevada Sweep on Stage Three, from sitting unsupported position. Mixed shape targets at 150, 175 and 200yds.

Six pistol rounds to start Stage Four with bonus points for shooting strong hand only for the last three shots. Another ‘shoot-til-you-hit, shoot-til-you-miss’ scenario, from standing position. Targets at 150 and 200yds.

The tie breaker, Stage Five, started with the grenade pitch and then six pistol rounds at a 25yd. target. Then engage a single 160yd. target from standing position. Move to prone unsupported, reload and engage a single 220yd. target.

Possible high score of 70.
