January 2021 ViMBAR Match

Bright with strong north winds for this month’s match. Five stages, all ten rounds unless otherwise stated.

Prone supported on Stage One, with sixty seconds to engage a single 250yd. target, maximum 15 rounds.

Sitting supported on Stage Two, engaging targets at 200, 400 and 300yds, Nevada Sweep.

Alternate targets at 150 and 200yds. on Stage Three, from sitting unsupported position.

Six pistol rounds at a single 30yd. target to start Stage Four. Then a ‘shoot-’til-you-hit, shoot-’til-you miss’ scenario with targets at 200 and 400yds. Sitting supported.

The tie breaker, Stage Five, started with the grenade pitch and six pistol rounds at a 25yd. target. From standing position, alternate targets at 125 and 160yds.

Possible high score of 70.

December 2020 ViMBAR Match

Cold weather for the last match of the year. Five stages, all ten rounds. This was our almost annual odd ball caliber event. Rifles chambered in .30-06, .308, .303 Brit, 6.5×55 and 7.5×55 were excluded from the awards,

A shooter’s choice on Stage One. Engage a single 275yd. target with five rounds. Then either stay there or for two points per hit, engage a smaller 275yd. target. No going back.

Targets at 100, 200, 300 and 400yds on Stage Two. Sweep front to back and repeat. From sitting supported position. Two points for all hits on 300 and 400yd. targets.

Sitting unsupported on Stage Three, alternating targets at 150 and 200yds.

Six pistol rounds at a medium 30yd. target to start Stage Four. From standing position, alternate targets at 150 and 200yds.

The grenade pitch started Stage Five, the tie breaker. Six pistol rounds at a small 25yd. target. From any unsupported position, engage until you hit, then move, with targets at 100, 160 and 220yds.

Possible high score of 74.

Prone supported on Stage One, with 25 seconds to engage a single 250yd. target, five rounds. Then five rounds at a single 300yd. target, slow fire.

A Nevada Sweep on Stage Two, with targets at 200, 400 and 300yds. Sitting supported. No sight adjustment after the first round.

Sitting unsupported on Stage Three, alternating targets at 150 and 200yds.

Six pistol rounds at a single 35yd. target to start Stage Four. Then alternate targets at 150 and 200yds. from standing position.

Stage Five, the tie breaker started with the grenade pitch and six pistol rounds at a single 25yd. target. Then from any unsupported position, engage targets at 160, 220 and 100yds, Nevada Sweep.
