January 2020 ViMBAR Match

A good turnout for this month’s match. Jim and Bill set up five stages, all ten rounds.

Shooter’s Choice on Stage One. From prone supported position, engage a single 250yd. target with five rounds. Then either engage again with five more or move to a harder 250yd. target, two points per hit.

Sweep front to back and repeat on Stage Two, with targets at 100, 200, 300 and 400yds. Two points for all 400yd. hits. Sitting supported. No sight adjustment after the first shot.

Sitting unsupported on Stage Three, engaging targets at 150 and 200yds. Five rounds on each.

Five pistol rounds at a large 30yd. target to start Stage Four. Then from standing position, engage targets at 150 and 200yds, five rounds each.

The tie breaker, Stage Five, started with the grenade pitch and six pistol rounds at a 25yd. target. Then from any unsupported position, ‘engage until hit’ with targets at 100, 160 and 220yds.

Posiible high score of 72.

December 2019 ViMBAR Match

Five stages, all ten rounds for this month’s match. We also had our Army / Navy shootout side match. Navy beat Army, 45 to 34.

Stage One – Kill Gary. Ten rounds at ‘Gary’, set at 250yds. From prone supported position.

Targets at 100, 200, 300 and 400yds on Stage Two. Engage until hit twice and move to the next. Sitting supported.

Sitting unsupported on Stage Three, engaging targets at 175, 150 and 200yds, Nevada Sweep.

Stage Four started with six pistol shots at a 30yd. target. Then from standing position, engage targets at 150 and 200yds, ‘shoot-til-you-hit, shoot-til-you-miss’.

The Stage Five started with the grenade pitch and then six pistol rounds at a small 20yd. target. From any unsupported position, engage targets at 160, 220 and 100yds, Nevada Sweep.

Possible high score of 65.

November 2019 ViMBAR Match

This month was the ‘Odd Caliber Match’. Rifles in .30-06, .308, 6.5×55 and 7.5×55 were not eligible for the main match. Jim and Bill set up five stages, all ten rounds.

A shooter’s choice on Stage One. From prone supported position, engage a single medium 275yd. target. Then either five more rounds on the same target or move to a smaller 275yd. target for two points for each hit.

Sitting supported on Stage Two, sweeping targets at 100, 200, 300 and 400yds. and repeat. Two points for all hits at 300 and 400 yds. No sight adjustment after the first shot.

Alternate targets at 150 and 200yds. on Stage Three, from sitting unsupported position.
Six pistol rounds at a 30yd. target to start Stage Four. Then alternate targets at 150 and 200yds. from standing position.

Stage Five, the tie breaker, started with the grenade pitch and then six pistol rounds at a 25yd. target. From any unsupported position, engage until hit with targets at 100, 160 and 220yds. Repeat. Mandatory reload.
Possible high score of 74.
