Lever-action Rifle Silhouette August 2026
Hello everyone,
Thanks to everyone who came out for today’s DSRPC Lever-Action Rifle Silhouette match.
This month we used “Double Damns: Rams & Hams!” scoring, which means pigs and rams counted two points each, while chickens and turkeys counted one point each. The scores below reflect that adjusted scoring.
We had a good turnout, including three new shooters, which was great to see. Conditions got a little more interesting as the day went on, with the wind picking up through the match, but everyone handled it well. It was especially encouraging to see newer shooters getting involved, asking questions, and jumping into the match. That is exactly what keeps this match fun and growing.
Please note how the front berms are higher on the rams and turkeys for the last two months, making it a lot easier to see low misses, without hitting the steel rail. Make sure to thank the Range Manager, J, if you see him. I’m sure we’ll get the other half of the range done soon, and it’s been great to see the improvements each month.
Our local tie-breaker order is Turkeys, then Rams, then Pigs, then Chickens.

Rifle
| Place | Shooter | Chickens | Pigs | Turkeys | Rams | Total |
| 1 | Charlie P. | 6 | 3 | 6 | 0 | 15 DNF |
| 2 | Justin A. | 6 | 3 | 6 | 0 | 15 DNF |
| 3 | Mac M. | 4 | 5 | 0 | 0 | 15 DNF |
Charlie and Justin are tied for first in our first ever total tie. And all 3 shooters were DNF as Justin left early for work (no rams) and I was shooting Charlie’s rifle and broke it while loading it to shoot the turkeys, so Charlie got no rams, and I got no rams OR turkeys. I only needed ONE!

Lever-action Rifle Silhouette April 2026
12 shooters today for what will surely be the best weather of the year for this. But our firing line should be well shaded for the summer, and when we get much larger, we’ll break up into more squads so that we aren’t out there all day. I think everyone improved on their scores, except me.
We had plenty of live-fire practice time after the IHMSA shooters were done, before we started. So if you are early, it’s usually worth it.
Don’t ask how JC can get 0 chickens and 9 rams. I got no clue. Bill bested him by staying consistent.
Don’t think you need fancy sights to do this. Andy was the highest scorer, and with an Uberti 22 with buckhorns.

There is probably still time to sign up for the CA State Championship on Memorial Day weekend near Los Angeles. They have a practice day on Friday, and three days (one for each lever-action division) Saturday – Monday.
