October 2020 IDPA Match

With the State easing the restrictions on the Group Events to 250 people, we decided to remain at 48 shooters per match for a while to see if we can get the matches to run a little smoother.

We had a good turnout for the October 11 match with 42 total shooters. We had 2 ladies and 2 youths.

Weather was mild and the day did go fairly quickly. We were a little short on volunteers again for set up and we were getting done just as the match was to start.  We started just a little late.

Please sign up early and volunteer. First, you will get to squad early and secure your place in the match. Second, you get to see the stages ahead of time and get the idea behind the design. Thirdly, your fellow shooters will consider you a hero. And….your match fee will be FREE!

At the shooter’s meeting Angelo mentioned the importance of Voting for your 2A friendly candidates so that our recreational shooting can continue for the years to come.

We had our standard 6 stages and were off the range by 12:30.

Top shooters by Division were:

CDP, Bruce Holden, 160.64.

Carry Optic, Jim Tadlock, 95.60.

Enhanced Service Pistol, Jennifer Crabtree 130.36 (also high Lady).

Pistol Caliber Carbine, (no shooters)

Stock Service Pistol, Brett Williams 129.36.

True Carry, Josey Wales (Angelo )126.13.

True Carry Back Up, Edmond Goroza 274.47.

IDPA matches are the second Sunday of each month and registration is handled online at Practiscore.com beginning the Sunday before the match. Just search for IDPA matches in Las Vegas and it will show up (not posted until registration opens). Range members get to squad first, until Tuesday when volunteers and others can squad. Remember, volunteers for set up and tear down get precedence over other shooters in the squadding schedule and their match fee is comped, so please consider volunteering.
