100-yard .22lr Blackjack Match
Match Overview:
Third Thursday of the month, at range 4A. Set up at 7am – 7:30 am, Sight in 7:30 – 8:45, Safety briefing 8:45 – 9:00, Match start 9:00 am. This is a modified hybrid .22lr rimfire KYL and Eric Cortina’s 500-yard Blackjack Challenge. Standard shooting position is prone or bench unless mentioned. Starting position for a bolt rifle is empty chamber, full magazine with bolt open. Semi autos are empty chamber, full magazine with bolt closed. Safety can be in the off position on either after making ready.
Total time to complete relay: 75 seconds
Round count: 8 rounds
Target distance: 100 yards
A match consists of 4 relays lasting 75 seconds each.
- Match score is the total of all points recorded in each relay.
- NO COACHING ALLOWED – Shooter is responsible for hitting correct targets, doping wind, etc…
- No scores will be announced until the end of the match.
Scoring:
Total: 21 points (Blackjack), Plus 21 points for each additional hit on target 6 (0.75″). Note: If you miss your double or triple blackjack attempt at target 6 you lose all your points for that relay.
- Target 1 – 5″ = 1 points
- Target 2 – 3″ = 2 points
- Target 3 – 2″ = 3 points
- Target 4 – 1.5″ = 4 points
- Target 5 – 1″ = 5 point
- Target 6 – 0.75″ = 6 points
Targets must be shot in order of largest to smallest. Shooter must hit the round target, not the arm. If a judge calls a miss from a high hit off the arm or strap holding the target, the shooter continues shooting the missed target, until hit, before advancing to the next target. If a target is shot at and missed, you continue shooting the missed target, until hit, before advancing to the next target. Targets must visibly “swing” to be counted as a hit. The Match Director’s decisions are final. If a target is shot out of order, you lose all points accumulated to that point and start over with first target. If time runs out prior to a miss or completion of all 8 shots, the shooter records all points accumulated to that point. If you hit all six targets, you get 21 points (Blackjack). If you have ammo and time leftover, you may continue to shoot at smallest target for a double then triple “Blackjack” for additional 21 points.
To score a double or triple blackjack you must let your scorer know you are attempting to hit a double or triple blackjack. If you fail to let your scorer know you are attempting to hit a double or triple blackjack you get no points for hitting target 6. After calling for double or triple blackjack and you miss your attempt at target 6, you lose all your points for that relay.
