You would have thought that the heat would have kept everyone huddled under their air conditioning but 15 shooters came out to “Send It”. With the newly extended sun cover up and a nice little breeze it was actually a very comfortable and enjoyable morning.
We setup at 6am and started shooting at 7:30. The match ran from 100-870 yards. There were 59 shots spread out over 8 stages. We had a first time match competitor in 14 year old Nick along with an array of experienced match veterans. Overall it was fun for everyone.
Next month’s match will be on the 4th Saturday as usual August 27th.
It was a warm day today but it was still pretty comfortable in the shade of the sun cover. With 16 shooters and our format of two shooters on the line at a time things moved right along and we wrapped up before 12pm. This match ran from 100-870 yards. There were 65 shots with an available 2 bonus points so 67 possible points.
Next month’s match will be on the 4th Saturday as usual July 23th.
This month our 2nd Precision Rifle Match was held on the Saturday of the Memorial Day weekend. We would have expected a smaller turnout but it was quite the opposite with 23 shooters up from 14 last month. The weather was near perfect and everyone was primed and ready for a great competition. We had 3 new participants that have never shot a competition of this sort but they are rookies no longer.
The new concrete on the Range 9 platform allowed us to spread out a bit which was necessary with a group of this size plus spectators. The target array was spread out from 100 to 665 yards with a variety on targets including a Dueling Tree and Know Your Limitations stage on steel. There were 50 shots with an available 5 bonus points so 55 possible points.
Next month’s match will be on the 4th Saturday as usual June 25th.
