This was the second match of our season and it was a .22 pistol and subgun match. The weather was cool with an annoying wind. The shooter started with a loaded .22 pistol and had to engage a Mini Plate Rack. It was only 9 yards away but it proved to be very challenging. The shooter then picked up his pre staged subgun and moved to position 2 and engaged some seasonal themed paper targets. Shooter then moved to the third position and engaged a array of steel targets from the kneeling position shooting through a barricade.
The range was reset for the second run. The match moved along slowly because of the dreaded plate rack. A two man team event followed the main match in which one shooter shot the pistol and the other shot the sub gun. We finished late but it was a fun match. Next month will also be a two gun match. You will need a RIFLE and SUBGUN Match will on November 10th at 0900. Setup at 0800. On an added note. This was the first match of our season and it was a Subgun only match. The weather was very strange for Las Vegas with light rain and muggy air. We started an hour earlier to beat the heat and the temperature was comfortable. We set up three stages as this was a mandatory reload match. The shooter started with a empty Subgun and upon signal to fire, loaded and took out a 4 pins and steel. The shooter then moved to stage two and took out 6 steel dinger targets. He then reloaded again and moved to stage 3 and took out several steel knockdown targets, moved back to stage two and reengaged the dingers again. The range was reset for the second run.
The match moved along quickly and a team event followed the main match where the teams had to cut lumber in the fastest time. Great fun. We were finished before noon. At the suggestion of Richard Jones we will be doing a two gun match using a .22 Handgun and Subgun (no .22 magnums please). Match will be on October 13th at 0900. Setup at 0800.

This was the last match of our season and it was a Subgun only match. The weather was very hot for this match so we started an hour earlier.
The shooter started with a loaded Subgun and upon signal to fire, took out a single pin. The shooter had to transition to his week hand and engage a shrouded target surrounded by hostages. Several penalties were incurred and many hostages died. The shooter then had to transition back to his strong hand and engage another pin before moving on to the next stage where there were steel dinger and knock down targets. The shooter then moved to the final stage where there were several knock down targets that had to be taken out in the kneeling position shooting through the horizontal barrel prop.
The range was reset for the second run and the shooter had to still use a weak handed hold before moving to the second stage that used all steel knock down targets. The match moved along quickly and a team event followed the main match. We were finished before noon. We will be back in September after the Summer break. I will send out a notice before the match as a reminder.
Have a great Summer.
