Q: I’m bringing my neighbor and his daughter as guests to Family Day. Do I have to pay guest fees for them?
A: No. All Guest fees will be waived for this event.
Q: My friends from work want to come and observe the Fun Shoot. Do they need eye and ear protection if they won’t be shooting?
A: Yes! ALL DSRPC Safety Rules will be in force at Family Day. Everyone must wear eye and ear protection at all times. If you don’t have enough eyes and ears for your group, eye and hearing protection is available at the Guard Shack for a $1or $2 donation to the Club.
Q: How many people can a member bring with them to Family Day?
A: DSRPC guest policy allows up to four guests per member. All guests must stay with you.
Q: Will the entire range be open for member and guest use?
A: NO. The Family Day .22LR Fun Shoot will be held on Range 6. ALL OTHER CLUB RANGES WILL BE CLOSED. Use of Range 6 will be limited to Family Day shooters.
Q: I’m an experienced shooter and am very familiar with DSRPC’s rules. Can we skip the Safety Briefing at 10am?
A. NO. All person’s participating in the Fun Shoot MUST attend the 10am Safety Briefing. If you miss the Safety Briefing for any reason, you will not be allowed to shoot.
Q: Do we need to bring food to the event?
A: Nope. Complimentary hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and cold water and soda will be provided to all courtesy of the Club, beginning at 12 noon. If you have special dietary restrictions you can bring your own grub.
Q: I won’t be shooting. Can I bring a six pack of my Uncle Bob’s home brewed lager?
A: ABSOLUTELY NOT. As always, no drugs of any kind may be brought onto DSRPC property. That includes alcohol. Drink lots of water to stay hydrated.
Q: Can we bring our own rifles for the Fun Shoot?
A: You can, but it is not necessary. The club will be providing bolt action .22LR rifles for Fun Shoot participant’s use. Firearms brought by members will be safety checked before use.
Q: Can I sit on the line with my son/daughter/spouse and help them shoot?
A: No. All shooters will be assisted, if necessary, by an assigned DSRPC NRA certified Range Safety Officer. You may sit behind the yellow line on the range and shout stirring words of encouragement for your favorite shooter.
Q: Can I open carry at Family Day?
A: The only firearms allowed on the range on Family Day are .22LR. Any 22’s that are open carried must be safety checked by DSRPC security, remain unloaded (magazine removed) have a visible empty chamber indicator (ECI) and must not be drawn for any reason.
Q: How long will Family Day last? Will the Range be open after the event?
A: We anticipate that the Family Day festivities will conclude around 2:00pm. The Range will be closed after that for the rest of the day, and re-open on Sunday, May 6, at 7am.
