Watching the weather forecasts leading up to the match we were all expecting a nasty cold windy morning.
Well it was exactly the opposite. It was still January with a slight nip in the air but other than that it was great conditions for our match.
Expecting the worse though we put together a match limiting the distances to 646 yards and made things interesting through distance and target changes. We started out with a Cold Bore stage on steel at 333 to 550y.
We rolled into a few positional stages with a barrel and hedgehog before moving on to paper at 224 yards. From there we challenged the shooters with positional and prone stages using strong side support side shooting. We finished up with a YOYO stage with 8 target transitions and capped off the day with a double spinner challenge. All day was back and forth, in and out with side to side mixed in.
We only had 9 shooters today with the NRL Championship going on across town. Today was a bit different with 5 new shooters coming out and only 4 regulars. Most of the new shooters traveled into Vegas from places like Ely and St. George. It was a very fun group with everyone having fun and contributing to the match. We definitely would welcome back this entire group with their great attitudes and the way that they all handled safety on the range.
A big thank you to everyone for helping setup and tear down the match as well as being perfect with the safety protocols.
