It was a beautiful day today with temps at 84* when we started. Winds were light at 3 to 6mph. Overall we were in the shade and it was very comfortable.
We started out with a Cold Bore stage bouncing back and forth between 333y and 425. We moved into 2 stages using horizontal racks with one of those being a KYL. After that we went into a paper stage at 100y using a twist with ½ moa circle inside of a 1 1/2 moa circle, 1 point for hit in big circle but a zero for touching the smaller inner circle. That was challenging and fun. From there we went into a holdover stage from 550y to 870y. We finished with 3 stages using props- table, barricade and a set of 3 straps.
We had 11 shooters today due to many of our regulars being at a national match in New Mexico. Most of the competitors today were experienced match shooters. We did have one 2nd time shooter who with some dedicated coaching from member Greg Piet managed to increase his score over last month by 6 fold. This match continues to draw new competitors as it has from the beginning. Everyone as usual was very friendly and willing to answer questions. This is a special group of competitors. Thank you to all for your support and great attitudes.
On a sad note we are losing 3 of our long time competitors. Jorge Bonilla, Zev and Fiona York all being military members are all moving away to change duty stations. Thank you all for your friendship and competitive spirits that you have brought to our community. You will all be missed.
