Three new large private bays (10 1-3) have been completed and are now open for member use. The new bays have target slips and space for steel targets. Enjoy, and stay safe!
The large inoperative air tanks on Range 7 have been deinstalled and removed from DSRPC. Stay tuned for further range upgrades and repairs (including exciting new shooting opportunities). Cleaning this range up will be a major effort and come at a cost, but your Board is committed to returning 7 to it’s former glory.
The access road to the shotgun shooting position has been cleared and is now useable. Further news to come soon.
The three function check (non-shooting) bays on Range 2 have been converted to dedicated Archery bays. Archers must provide their own targets. Please, no hunting (razor type) arrow tips.
Range 3, 5, 6 and 10 berms have been refreshed to enhance shooter safety and protect target slips.
Range 5/6 Safety Upgrade:
The side berms on Ranges 5 and 6 have been extended and shored up to fully protect the firing lines on both ranges.
The future parking area for Range 4 has been cleared and leveled. Design and planning of shooting positions (bench and prone), berms, and access points for this new 100/200 yard range is under way. Estimated completion in Q4 of this year.
Range Clean Up:
A large number of unauthorized targets and materials have been removed from the range, including multiple semi-truck axles, piles of scrap metal, garbage, and construction debris. This will be an ongoing effort. If you witness unauthorized dumping on the range, please report it to an rso or the board. We will aggressively prosecute any party using the range as a dump site to the full extent of local and federal law. Any member involved in dumping will be immediately terminated from the DSRPC ranks.
The Membership approved funds for paving the entrance drive and problem areas of the East and West range roads at the August 4, 2015 General Membership Meeting. Obtaining any necessary dust and grading permits is in process, and a temporary range access road has been prepped and cleared for use when paving begins in late September.
Thanks for your continued support! We are truly grateful to the membership.
