Big Bore Sun. was not unusual for the SCSS’s. Al couldn’t make it so there were no 40’s shot. Val was supposed to pick up the slack there but he fell a little short at 38. Can’t blame him much, he only shot Production, not Unlimited and hadn’t shot this gun here before. Gary D did pretty well with a 35 in Unlimited and Debi did real well with a 38 in UAS. Don insisted on shooting Unlimited standing even though he hasn’t redialed his scope in.. I’d tell you what he shot but I promised not TWO. Bob Roberts came out to shoot with us after a 30 yr. lay off and seemed to have a good time. We hope he stays with us.
Small Bore Sun. was a fiasco from the word go. We postponed the shoot because the Kingman Breezes were gusting around 30 mph. So, we shot the next Sun. with gusts to 50 mph. But, we did shoot! Joe K. who usually shoots high 30’s managed a 21 and was proud of it. Val shot before the breezes got too bad but they were bad enough. He shot 15 in Unlimited standing but was fun to watch.Pete is having a new set of problems, as if the breezes weren’t bad enough, but he’ll work it out. Debi was the smart one for the day. She jumped on line and shot first, leaving Don to shoot with the 50mph breezes and totally kicked his butt, but then she usually does anyway. Art C gets the tough man award or the dunce cap(I’m not sure which). He shot 2 standing entries, including Field Pistol with the heavy WINDS(there, I said it). We try not to use the W word but there was just no way around this day.
Thanks for all the help guys, maybe we’ll get better conditions next month.
We can only hope… Hg.
