The last month of the year was a pretty good one for the SCSS’s.Big Bore Sun. had a small turn out(as usual)but Al and Gary had notes from their mothers so they were excused.Val Shaver shot a pair of 39’s, one with a scope on the little guys and one in Unl -INT. The sun is rising so the glare will only become less for the next few months. Don Wright shot 2 guns also but made me promise not to mention his scores…..shhh. Debi Wright, on the other hand, wants everyone to know she shot a 37 in UAS, a personal best for her in quite some time.
Small Bore Sun. had a bigger turn out and was a lot of fun. We had our first legitimate shoot-off in a long time and Debi, of course, beat Don by one 1/5 ram at 100yds. They tied in UAS-AAA class. Alan Coffin shot his usual 2 40’s, both scoped guns. His shooting may be boring but Al always has good stories or a joke to keep us laughing. Gary De Coster shot 2 guns and is progressing well in both SB and FP. Pete Hofmann is almost back to normal,he had a 36 in UAS and I expect to see him shooting 40’s again real soon. Joe Kennedy came out and shot a 34 in US. That’s not all that good for him but it is still better than most of our other guys do laying down.
Wally Pinjuv shot “only” shot a 29 in FP-INT and wants a down grade to AAA…………yeah, like that’s gonna happen.
We have a new kid on the block. Art Cheshire came out to shoot with us after about a 30 year lay off, shot 2 guns and had a ball. Art is still knocking the rust off but is eager to improve and I’m sure he will. Wally already helped him with FP and as soon as he gets a little “cheating time” his scores will climb.
Shoot Well, Take Care Hg.
