Sunday morning, November 25th started out warm and sunny with no clouds and just a light breeze – great conditions for a match. These conditions resulted in some very good scores. Of the nine shooters that shot the rifle match, five shot 700 or better with the next four following close on their heels. But after the rifle match the breeze turned into a wind, which jumped around and forced Charger shooters to employ Kentucky windage. Using just the right amount of Kentucky windage takes skill, blessed with a dose of luck. Speaking as someone who may be a bit less good than others, seems like the left-handed major league pitcher Vernon Louis ‘Lefty’ Gomez was on to something when he said, “I would rather be lucky than good.”
Our next match is December 16th. Please come and check us out. Set-up is at 8 AM and the match starts at 9 AM. Shooting in this discipline is fun and very affordable. All are welcome.
